One of the nation’s rising stars on the defensive line, Bergen Catholic's Jayden Beckley, recently took a major step in his recruiting journey with a visit to Ohio State University — and he didn’t leave disappointed.

“My visit to Ohio State was an unforgettable experience,” Beckley said. “From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and part of the Buckeye family. They gave me a full tour of the Ohio State facility and showed me what Ohio State is really about. It was a great first introduction with Coach Johnson. It was an honor to talk to one of the greatest defensive line coaches in college football.”

Beckley, known for his explosive first step and high motor on the field, was visibly impressed not just with the campus and facilities, but with the overall culture of the program. His time spent with long-time defensive line coach Larry Johnson offered a unique glimpse into the Buckeyes' defensive identity — one that’s developed countless NFL talents and remains a cornerstone of the program’s national success.

“Being up close at a program like Ohio State was surreal,” Beckley added. “The facilities are top-notch, the energy around the program is electric, and you can feel the standard of excellence everywhere. Being able to see how the Ohio State players play opened my eyes to how a national powerhouse works and how they are able to be successful.”

While the visit was eye-opening, Beckley was quick to recognize those who’ve helped him get to this point — namely 5 Star Football Recruiting and Coach Isaac Hadac, who’s been a guiding force throughout his journey.
