With the class of 2027 beginning to take shape on a national level, Micah Fleming (5-10, 175) is making a case for one of the top defensive backs in the country. With a recent surge in recruiting interest and Division I offers from Arkansas State, Delaware State, Liberty, Mississippi State, and North Carolina, it’s clear the ceiling for Fleming is elite. The attention is serving as a motivating factor for the ball-hawking sophomore.
“It feels great to see my hard work pay off,” The Alabaster, Alabama native said. “It pushes me to finish the marathon.”
Elite Playmaker in the Secondary
His 2024 season stats speak for themselves—66 tackles (42 solo), 4 tackles for loss, 6 pass breakups, and an interception returned for a touchdown. Perhaps most impressively, he did not allow a single touchdown in coverage. His high football IQ, fluid technique, and ability to read offenses make him one of the most intriguing young DB prospects in the country.
Recruiting Explosion & 5-Star Football Recruiting Connection
Fleming credits much of his recent exposure to joining 5-Star Football Recruiting, a platform that has helped him connect with college coaches nationwide with the expert guidance of Coach Isaac Hadac. The 2027 recruit mentioned the 5-Star Football platform allowed him to promote his skills to new, unsuspecting coaches around the country.
The sophomore defensive standout has already started building strong relationships with college coaches, and the interest continues to grow. Projecting as one of the elite recruits, Fleming states the early attention he is receiving comes with excitement, gratefulness, with a touch of validation.
What’s Next for Micah Fleming?
Despite his growing list of offers the goals remain the same.
“I stay dedicated by keeping the main goal the only thing” Fleming stated, “Working hard on my training, trusting the process, and keeping myself around the right people.”
With his talent, work ethic, and rising national profile, Fleming is quickly emerging as one of the top young defensive backs in the 2027 class. As more programs take notice, expect the recruiting floodgates to continue opening.
